If you're a Cooper S owner then this extremely clever £1639.13 kit is for you. Pace's Top Deck water/air charge cooler is designed for easy fit under the bonnet of your supercharged New Mini Cooper S and it'll reduce the temperature of your induction air radically, even with the car stationary or moving in slow traffic. See the test results on the previous page for an idea of the advantages.
It'll work nicely on a standard S as well as on a tuned one but it's particularly important if you have fitted a smaller gear on your supercharger for higher performance. The supercharger heats up induction air by compressing it. If the induction air gets too hot, which is does with the standard intercooler, then the engine management system backs off the timing and you suffer the double whammy of lower performance and higher engine heat.
Pace Products is the top name in this technology in the UK and they produce their own cores and design and assemble their charge coolers at their factory in Haverhill, Suffolk. Most of their gear is for racing cars and they'll tell you that all intercoolers are not the same.
